August 1, 2007 · Filed Under Hip hop News · Comment

Wyclef Jean is going after Lauryn Hill in the new issue of Scratch now being on stands.

What’s going on with the Fugees reunion, or lack there of?
WYCLEF: I’m officially Paul McCartney from the Beatles now. If the Fugees wanna come back, and Lauryn wanna come back…you can’t break the format. Don’t come back and be like, “I wanna produce a beat.” That’s like me saying I wanna sing an R&B vocal. When we was working on the album, I was like, [to Lauryn], “You need to do this like this.” [And] she says, “How do you know what’s relevant? ‘Em ain’t put out an album in five years,’ rapper says. ‘It builds anticipation because he’s away.’

Is 50 Cent threatening to make like a long list of rappers before him — from Jay-Z to Master P to Too Short — and announce his

Not quite. He’s definitely not hanging up his mic, he recently told MTV News.

But if you ask Fif, after his next two projects — both of which are almost done, by the way — he won’t feel the need to drop an album as often as he has so far in his career. Read more
